Hi! I’m Miranda - a teacher, & women/children’s emotional health coach.

I am a wife and mother of three children, and live locally in our beautiful Leopold. I’ve been teaching casually at Leopold Primary for 4 years, and working with children and parents around emotions and behaviour is extremely important to me - because I know the difference this type of intervention can have in the lives of both. I love teaching kids about how to process their big feelings in their body & mind; and help & encourage mothers in particular to do the same, reducing anger, overwhelm and mum-guilt. I am a teacher, life & stress coach, and completed my Graduate Certificate of Positive Psychology & Wellbeing at CQUniversity; as well as being trauma-informed through my teaching and continual professional development.

With my clients, I focus on the areas of emotional health & healing, stress relief and emotional regulation, including nervous system calming strategies & gentle parenting strategies, for both women and children between the ages of 2-11.

I am also the host of The Mum Wellbeing Podcast, and an author. I look forward to meeting you!

My Story:

My journey to parenting coach, into stress/emotional coach with parenting too; came in 2 significant moments:

1: I was totally thrown sideways when my first child started throwing tantrums (regardless of my professional background) and fell into a spin of learning about parenting strategies - until I realised my teaching and early childhood background was literally there to help me, I just needed to use it! I then received many, many questions from friends and acquaintances around how to parent, what to say and how to manage children with connection and still have respect.

2: As I coached more and more parents, specifically exhausted mums, I discovered a common theme: I was often working with them on their own emotional beliefs, expectations and blocks, rather than just talking about their child. This extended into their relationships, and was affecting these mums in most aspects of their lives. Mum guilt is a huge part of our lives now too, and this is something I work regularly on with my clients.

I went through a particularly hard season of overwhelm, fatigue and anxiety not long after my third baby went through a severe but temporary illness.

I was able to learn firsthand some tools and tips to manage not just the emotional reactions I was having for months afterwards; but the huge toll that stress was taking on my body, and how I wasn’t helping myself.

After a huge life change in diet and learning through low-grade burnout many times, and supporting my child through the same, I decided to become a Stress Management Coach, Life coach, and create ways for mums to reduce their stress, and start to process all that ‘stuck’ emotion of a lifetime, from my nervous system.

It is a continual journey of discovery and understanding - but if I hadn’t had others (and my faith) to guide me along the way, I would have never got to where I am today.
